How it works

Logging your hours, start to finish

What actually happens between signing in and getting paid — five steps, and one thing that happens automatically that trips people up the first time.

← Back to sign in

This is the same every week. Follow the spine top to bottom — the dashed branch only applies on the (occasional) week something gets sent back for a fix.

1

Use the email and password you set up from your invite email. Forgot it, or never finished setting one? Use the links on the sign-in screen — no need to ask anyone unless those don't work.

2

Log each shift as you work it

For every shift: the date, your location and unit, the type of work, start and stop time, and a quick note of what you did. Add one entry per shift — as many as you need through the week, whenever it's convenient, not all at once.

There's no "submit" button

This is the one people expect but won't find. At the end of your work week (Monday–Sunday), everything you logged bundles itself into a timesheet and starts moving through approval automatically. You don't click anything to send it in.

4

Watch it move through approval

Check anytime to see exactly where your timesheet is sitting and who it's waiting on next.

Fix it and it goes right back in

Occasionally an approver sends a timesheet back with a note on what needs correcting. Fix the entries it's pointing at and it automatically re-enters the chain from the start — still no submit button.

Returned — needs correction

Closed means paid

Once every stage has approved it, the status changes to Closed and you'll get an email the moment it happens. That's the whole cycle — it starts again the very next week without you doing anything to reset it.

Closed — submitted for payment

Worth knowing

Not part of the weekly cycle above, but good to know from day one.

Same-day corrections

Caught a mistake in an entry the same day you logged it? Fix it yourself before the week closes — no need to wait for it to be returned.

Notifications

You'll get an email when a timesheet is returned or fully approved. Ask whoever manages your team if you'd like the frequency changed.

Projects & Jobs

If your organization uses this, you can optionally tag a time entry to a specific job when logging it — ask your manager if that applies to you.

Still stuck?

Whoever manages your team (your Owner, office manager, or supervisor) can see your account and fix most issues directly.
